This winter and spring I’m joining a bunch of other talented seamsters in the Stitcher’s Guild’s Sewing with a Plan 2012 challenge. We’re all making eleven garments from tried-and-true patterns. Unfortunately, I don’t have any. My goal is to discover several TNTs over the course of the challenge through proper fitting, and this post continues the discussion.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the Stitcher’s Guild Sewing with a Plan contest results on Monday. My “Mix-and-Match Minoru” SWAP had a coveted spot on the podium with Sharon of Petite and Sewing and Robin of A Little Sewing. Ummm, seriously?! These women are my sewing idols. In fact, Robin is the reason I found out about the SWAP in the first place. Just crazy. I’m still giddy with excitement. A giant thank you goes out to all of the Stitcher’s Guild members who cast their vote for my SWAP. Thank you, thank you.
And, since we’re talking awards and all, I also wanted to thank Valerie of Sew Cranky for awarding me the Liebster Blog. Over the last year she has made some spectacular jackets not only for herself but also for her family, which is especially inspiring for me as I begin my Starlet Jacket. And, I have to admit that it always cracks me up to see her blog title happily sitting up amongst grass and dandelions at the top of her blog. Since I’ve accepted this award before, I’ll simply direct you to that post instead of going through the whole spiel again.
