This April I’m sewing along with Sherry at Pattern~Scissors~Cloth. A bunch of other talented seamsters and I are all making coats following the construction methods used in ready-to-wear tailoring. Mine is a Burberry-inspired trench coat, and here’s a reflection on my efforts to sew well.

The Sartorialist, a blog that looks at style through the lens of a camera, featured a bold pairing of red and black, blonde hair, and camel-colored trench coats in one of today’s posts. I think I gave away my red pants a few years ago, and I’ll likely never own a pair of Louboutins, but I’ve got the blonde hair, and I’ll soon have a camel-colored trench coat. I’m feeling inspired!
