SSS’11: September 9th through 12th

This September I’m joining Zoe at ‘So, Zo…’ in a challenge to wear something handmade every day for thirty days. This post marks the third update of my progress.

September 9, 2011

What:  The Linen-and-Silk Shirt

Where:  To work.  My husband’s work, more precisely.  When I went through my list of completed garments, I realized I couldn’t wear nearly a quarter of them since they were sewn as gifts for others.  Being the gallant knight that he is, my husband graciously offered to take on today’s challenge for me.  Thanks, darling!

What:  The Black-and-White Satin Organza Crescent Skirt

Where:  To dinner and a movie.  Today marks my husband’s and my four-year dating anniversary.  I wore this top on one of our very first dates, so I pulled it out again for today.  I paired it with my Crescent skirt, but in hindsight I think I like this skirt paired with close fitting, tucked in tops best. Otherwise, the skirt’s waistband is lost.

What:  The Giant Flower Sun Hat

Where:  In the garden.  Mmmmm…  Cherry tomatoes.

September 12, 2011

What:  A self-silk-screened shirt:  the female warrior from the game Gauntlet in green on a light blue T shirt

Where:  To work.  Then out with friends to a parking lot filled with food trucks for dinner.

    1. I’m about at the end of my self-stitched items. In fact, I only have two more (one of which I wore today!). If I don’t finish the maxi dress and a potential refashion or two, the second half of September is going to look an awful lot like the first half!
