SSS’11: September 13th through 15th (Half Way!)

This September I’m joining Zoe at ‘So, Zo…’ in a challenge to wear something handmade every day for thirty days. This post marks the fourth update of my progress.

September 13, 2011

What:  The Sunlit Teal Garden Lonsdale (as a skirt)

Where:  To work.  Would you believe I’m still a bit sick?!  Today was a meeting filled day, and my motto was again:  look better to feel better.

What:  A self-silk-screened shirt:  “The Unnaturals” with a frog in black on a green ringer T shirt

Where:  To work.  I found this fountain during lunch for the Wednesday weekly theme.  I had half a mind to ask someone to take my photo while I was standing in the fountain, but then I chickened out.  I could just imagine security chasing after me at work.  Oh my!

September 15, 2011

What:  Gray Armani Jacket

Where:  To dinner with my husband.  We dined on a delightful pasta filled with portobello mushrooms and mozzarella.

Half-Way Reflections:

We’re half way through Self-Stitched September ’11, and I’ve worn all of my handmade garments once and a handful of self-screened T shirts.  I even had a stand in one day.  While I’ve got a couple of projects in the works (the maxi dress and the circle skirt, specifically), I’m going to have to get creative if I don’t want the second half of the month to look like the first.  The challenge is about to get more interesting over here.

For those of you also participating in SSS’11, how did the first half of the month go for you?

  1. OMG! That jacket is so beautiful!

Like you, with the exception of two items, I’ve worn everything I’ve made once already so the second part of the month is either going to see me get very creative or very boring… only time will tell!

  2. I still have several me-made things to wear. But I haven’t been terribly creative this year. I feel like I just pull out something me-made, find something that goes with it, and take a photo.

But I have been slowly sawing away at my unmade pile of projects, and that feels good.

The jacket is fantastic! and I love your silkscreens – what a great idea.

    Have a good weekend.

  3. The jacket is amazing! The first half of SSS went better than expected. I found something different to wear most days. However I’m really struggling now. My summer clothes are better than my winter… so basically I’m just hoping the weather gets warmer so I have something different to wear.
