This holiday season I’m sewing along with Tilly of Tilly and the Buttons and a bunch of other talented seamsters in the Crafty Christmas Club. We’re all making gifts for our family and friends, and this post marks the beginning of the saga.
As the general public moves quickly from a day of thanks to a day of extreme consumerism, I’m still basking in thanks. I’m not in the stores vying for the best Black Friday deals. Instead, I’m relaxing in Seattle with my baby niece, ever so thankful for her, for my family, and, honestly, for you – it’s wonderful to have this hobby and the community it provides.
Like last year, this holiday season I’m hoping to make a few of my Christmas gifts for others. But, unlike last year, I’m not doing it alone. Tilly of Tilly and the Buttons has set up a wonderful community for crafty bloggers to share with each other what they’re making without spilling the beans to the family and friends that might read their blogs. It’s called the Crafty Christmas Club.
My goal is to use this community as motivation to make the time to sew during this hectic month. I’ll be juggling everything I normally have plus a new project at work, a deadline for a review paper, and holiday travel. Wish me luck! And, join me over at the CCC if you’re so inclined. The more the merrier, I say!
