I finally made the muslin for the French-style jacket for my mom. My mom and I felt that the original jacket that came with Simplicity 6402 was a bit too boxy for her and thought the fabric deserved to be made into something she would wear more often. I combined the original jacket’s round neckline with the shape of Vogue V8369, and the three-piece sleeve from Vogue V8087.
I’ve heard it takes 70 hours to make one of these jackets. I wonder if that estimate counts the time to make and fit the muslin? Here’s to plugging away at it bit by bit!

I’ll be very interested in the result! Are you really going to follow the couture instructions? I’m intending to make one of those as well one day but the amount of time needed really puts me off 🙂
